The Simple Feast - Holiday Parties

By serving wine or champagne, you take the guesswork out of mixing cocktails and estimating how much alcohol to buy. Even if you have never ventured into wine country before, we promise that by following our easy menu and tips below you will have a very Simple Feast!

Wine Party

If you are not familiar with wines -- or even if you are -- we suggest you think about what types of wine you may want to serve at your party. It's okay to offer a mix of wines, but try to stay within the same region to avoid mixing too many flavors.

When you set up your wine table, consider keeping the wine for your party under the table and covering the table with a long tablecloth. This makes it easy to replenish empty bottles as the night goes on! Also, you will want to make sure that you have a few bottle openers handy for this event. It is best to estimate a half to three-quarters of a bottle per person during a 3 hour party -- so if you have invited 6 people, make sure you have at least 5 bottles on hand for the night!

Wine really is best served in glass -- not plastic! If you don't have enough wine glasses for all your guests, consider going to Target or Wal-Mart and buying an inexpensive set of stemware to keep on hand for parties. Stem-less glasses are another choice, however keep in mind that for white wine, the warmth from one's hand heats the wine very quickly.
