Baby Shower
What better way to show a mom-to-be how much you care about her than by throwing her a baby shower? Whether you are holding this event in honor of a relative, close friend, or co-worker, the mom-to-be deserves the center of attention before the new center of attention arrives. We'll show you how to plan a baby shower with ease.
The main areas to consider as you begin thinking about your event:
Select a Date - Once you decide if you are having one guest of honor, or two, you want to focus on choosing a date. Baby Shower's are usually held 1 to 2 months before the due date. However, if the mom-to-be needs to fly to get to you, keep in mind that you can't fly after month 7.
Pick out a Theme - The theme will influence your choice of invitations and decorations for the host. If the mom-to-be has chosen a theme for her nursery, you may want to use that influence for the direction to take with the shower.
Food - Decide what type of food you'd like to serve, and plan your menu. A simple feast for a baby shower is best served buffet-style. Decide which elements of the meal you are going to pre-buy from the store (we'll show you how to present it if you follow the links to the left) and which elements you will prepare yourself. The highlight of the meal will be the cake.
Decorations - You will want to create an environment in your home to signal that this is a special event. Use the theme you chose for the invitations - it can be as simple as picking one color from the invitations for the flowers, or you can go farther with decorations from a party supply store.
Favors - We will show you how to create simple, inspired favors for the guests to take with them to commemorate the event
